Q: What is your original hometown & your current residency place?
A: Cali, Colombia.
Q: Tell us in a short way about your musical background & early influences.
A: I was raised in a very musical environment, especially with jazz, classical music, Colombian folklore, Brazilian music and rock
Q: What is your favorite digital service to discover fresh new music?
A: Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud and Bandcamp
Q: What is the very first musical product you acquired or discovered?
A: Jerusalem by Alpha Blondy in vinyl (12’’)
Q: Which of your own projects is exciting you the most at the moment?
A: My own solo piano project “Santiago Martínez” in which I will release my second album “Camera Obscura”.
Q: Which are your proudest musical achievement and a genuine milestone in your career?
A: Playing in FIMU (Belfort, France), in Estereo Picnic (Bogotá, Colombia) and Congo Square Festival (New Orleans, USA). Also recording 2 EP’s in Liverpool and Birmingham as a part of a research project.
Q: What is your dream gig and performance location today?
A: North Sea Jazz Fest, Perugia, Montreux Jazz Festival. And having a gig at Ronnie Scott’s (London).
