S B X is a talented South African R&B singer and songwriter. She was born in Pretoria East, Gauteng; and she now lives in Johannesburg. Growing up in a heavily music-influenced family, she had a passion for the arts since a young age.
She released her first song back in 2019, and it has been a way up since then! This January, she released her sophomore EP “These Songs Are About You”, and has a tour coming up in September. SBX has been featured in Iqhawe Magazine, Freshmen Magazine, SlikouronLife, Creator Live & many more!

Q: What is your original hometown & your current residency place?
A: My original hometown is Empangeni, KZN and I am currently living in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
Q: Tell us in a short way about your musical background & early influences.
A: I grew up in a very music-oriented family and grew up on artists such as Lionel Richie, Backstreet Boys, Whitney Houston to name a few. I also grew up idealising Disney superstars such as Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez and have been singing since I was 8 years old but performing on stage since I was 6 years old.
Q: What is your favourite digital service to discover fresh new music?
A: Apple Music.
Q: What is the very first musical product you acquired or discovered?
A: Breakout by Miley Cyrus (her debut album).
Q: Which of your own projects is exciting you the most at the moment?
A: My sophomore EP ‘These Songs Are About You Too’ which dropped this year January 14th.
Q: Which are your proudest musical achievement and a genuine milestone in your career?
A: I have achieved a number of things but having my music videos on tv and my music on radio is definitely top 2.
Q: What is your dream gig and performance location today?
A: Coachella, Rocking the daisies or the Grammys stage.
Q: Do you have any exciting projects at the moment?
A: I will be going on tour around September so stay tuned for that!
