In Talks With Anyiko Owoko
Last month, we hosted Anyiko Owoko at our Berlin headquarters for an East African Deep Dive & later on stayed for a celebratory BBQ with our Paradise Team & our artists and labels based in Berlin.
Anyiko Owoko is East Africa’s leading Entertainment and Music Publicist, with an avant-garde PR & Talent Management agency executing PR & Campaigns for social impact across the continent. The Music and Events Curator has over ten years’ experience in the media and music industry. Her knack for promoting artists and labels, coupled with a broad media network and diverse work experience, has elevated her to become one of Africa’s most influential women in the music business and the creative sector.
At the East Africa Deep Dive, Anyiko described what is beyond the simple numbers of growth of African markets emerging & unpacked how to make sure revenue actually gets collected and what needs to be done in the East African market to achieve that. “I think it is also important to look at us in East Africa & try to see what the opportunities are and see who is ready to work with you, that’s why we are here..” Anyiko said during the talk.
Foozak & Dylan-S, from label Ewaso Records, & Euggy from Gondwana KE were also present and joined Anyiko on the panel. Both labels are pioneers of the East African Dance and Electronic Music Scene. The panel shared with their European counterparts in Berlin inside knowledge about East African music and industry.
